Description: _x000D_ _x000D__x000D_The objective of this module is to help students, senior and/or_x000D_graduate students, consider the diverse perspectives of stakeholders_x000D_in the development of sustainable projects and enable them to use_x000D_collaborative design tools, like charrettes. Students will be able to_x000D_define a Design Charrette, its guiding principles and core values, and_x000D_the phases of its implementation. The module includes a presentation_x000D_by the instructor and/or guest speaker, explaining the relevance of_x000D_the topic to students and their future careers. Then, students engage_x000D_in an in-class activity that focused on a hypothetical university_x000D_building renovation project. Students assume the roles of pre-defined_x000D_stakeholders including the Provost, Structural Engineer, LEED_x000D_certified designer, and others. To further facilitate analysis of the_x000D_topics, the entire class engages in a discussion session, which allows_x000D_students to share what they have learned from the in-class activity_x000D_and their stakeholder roles. Then, the instructor summarizes the key_x000D_learning points and assign to the students to create individually_x000D_concept maps where they describe the design charrette process. These_x000D_concept maps are subsequently used as post-assessment tools,_x000D_identifying the knowledge students have gained. Implementation of the_x000D_module provides a platform for increasing student awareness that the_x000D_development sustainable projects involve the inclusion of various_x000D_stakeholders._x000D_
